Jellybaby conventions

In this image we used a bowl as a prop to represent a cave, it is also white to represent purity. Indicating that the jellybaby next to the white bowl is also pure and true.

Here in the image above we used non diegetic and diegetic sounds which are represented by the sound notes on the whiteboard. The diegetic sounds that would of been heard is from the person who is being killed as they are screaming, and the non diegetic sounds would be spooky and sinister sounds to help build up tension and make one feel uneasy from the killer.

In this scene we are showing different characters, the yellow gummy bear represents a dumb blonde in a group of friends this is to suit the stereotype of a women female/teenager that is blonde often being called dumb and the black gummy bear represents an evil character as dark colours such as black are often linked to evilness and darkness.

In this scene we see the dumb blonde getting killed as she wasn't smart enough t to follow her group of friends. We used a yellow jelly baby to fit the stereotype, this conforms the stereotype in horror films of the dumb blonde usually getting killed first.

what i have learnt

From watching previous A Level horror movie openings, i learn that everything in the frame should be necessarily to my film. I have to take note on what i am showing in my frame in order to cut out any unnecessary objects that will stir the audience from watching the main characters/actions. I also learnt that we do not need to include  much dialogue for our films to be good, less dialogue could be better and help to build tension.

Potential problems and how you’re going to overcome them: A problem we could face may be that Carolina is unable to come so to overcome this we will film a scene where she isn't involved. So that we are not wasting time and still have some sort of footage that will still be needed later on the filming process.

Potential problems and how you’re going to overcome them: As this scene has no dialogue we need to make sure we try to eliminate as much background noise as possible that we wont want in this scene, otherwise it can make the editing process more difficult and longer. This scene is also outside so we need to make sure we check the weather beforehand, so we don't encounter any problems with the weather that may delay us shooting.

Animatic Feeback

After performing my Animatic to my class I received some feedback of things that I need to work on and what i can do to improve it as well as being told what went well with my animatic. I was told that the opening was good as it made the viewer want to continue to watch the film as intrigued them to what to know what happened next. They also said that the setting was quite different from the typical horror film you would see. this made it seem more absurd and made the viewer want to continue to watch it. As well as that it fits into the fact that it needs to be an opening of an horror film which obviously means we didn't give to much of the plot away. We also just need to ensure that the images are more clear and understandable because some shots were quite hard to understand, as well as finding more sounds to go with the pictures so it becomes more alive and more interesting.

Horror Film Pitch Feedback

After presenting my horror film pitch to my peers and teacher I got a lot of feedback of how I can improve it.  A majority of my peers said it was good but  i need to ensure i have a secure understanding of how I am ending my Horror Film so that it will make things more clear and easier to understand. I also need to have a set idea of the killing scenes because I am not quite sure how to come about it. in addition to that i need to ensure I'm aware of how many people are going to die as well as know how and when they will die. I also need to re-think my location and see how I can change by garden shed into abandoned room so that it looks believable and effective, if not it may not be as successful as it could be. I also need to think of how I will show people being killed because I obviously cant really kill people, so i need to think of a another way to show the being killed that looks real and believable. In addition to that I need to be cautious of the camera angles and acknowledge if they fit into the storyline.

Preliminary Task

In this task i had to make a storyboard focusing on the word 'anger.' I then turned the storyboard into a short film using different camera angles/shots. using a storyboard help me in this task a lot because it enabled me to get a better understanding

Doing this task helped me to get a better understanding of how to edit and film. At first I founded this filming quite difficult , it was hard to position the camera in certain shots. For example when I had to do a high angle shot, it was difficult to get the camera in the right position that would look most suitable, and when i thought i have positioned the camera correctly they actors face wasn't even in lens. So i experienced trouble with that and it took sometime to get the camera int the position I wanted.

Overtime with constant filming I began to find the filming more easier although because we were working in such a small space some shots were still hard to film and to get the right angle for it.

I love any film that has a good plot/storyline in particular similar to my TV shows i enjoy watching comedies and drama. I have many favourite films but here is a list of a few of them: For Coloured Girls, Baby Boy, Woman Thou Art Loosed: On The 7th & Paid in Full.

I rarely listen to Radio stations but whenever I do i listen to Choice Fm because they normally play music I enjoy and the presenters make the show more interersing to listen to.

I often go on the internet and when I do Im either searching on google to find out information for things such as homework. I also go on website such as TopShop & ASOS to look at new clothes and order things i like. I enjoy to go on vine to entertain myself by watching hilarious videos as well as that i go onto Youtube & BET to find/download new music.

I don't play that many games but when i do i play: Candy Crush, Fruit Ninja & Subway Surfers.
i enjoy reading magzines to find out about the laste trends to do with fashion and about things happening with celebrities. I also enjoy reading catalogs for example the H&M catalouge  to order new things.

Target Audience

From the results i got from my survey i can assume the following from my target audience.

On the weekend my target audience likes to: go out with friends, go to parties, go shopping & go out to eat. They would mostly enjoy eating coco pops.The mode of transport the use is: Bus, train and car. they live in South London with their parents , brothers & sisters. Their favorite drinks are water, orange juice and tropical juice. Their Favorite TV shows consist of Criminal Minds, My Wife & Kids, Bad Girls Club, Catfish & EastEnders. Their favorite vegetables are carrots and potatoes.

They enjoy doing athletics such as running , swimming & high jump. they also enjoy netball & tennis they enjoy watching football. For a boy the ideal partner Megan Good,Nia Long, Taraji P Henson & Gabrielle Union. were as for a girl their ideal partner would be Idris Elba, Denzel Washington,  Tom Cruise & Channing Tatum. on holiday they would like to go to america preferably LA. They would like to go to either a Chinese restaurant or a fast food place such as KFC or MacDonald's. the political party they would vote for is the Labour party.
